Student Projects
- We helped 2006 Tauber Manufacturing Institute Spotlight Project at Intel with our RFID expertise, and they created a system expected to save over $3.5 million in forecast error and excursion costs. Professors Nigel P. Melville and Amy M. Cohn advised the students on the project.
- Smart Cameras for Smart Conference Rooms. Zhigang Chen, Xin Hu, Scott Gifford. First place winner, Windows CE Shared Source Contest 2006.
- Talking Points: RFID location sensing for the blind and visually impaired. Jonathan James (student), Jim Knox (ATCS staff). Talking Points Project Poster.
- Smart Poster; Chris Kuzak, Mike Dagitses, Derek Rea, Jason Shaffer, and Justin Washburn. Created a poster that customizes its content to nearby users, for EECS 481. Smart Poster Manual.
- mates: A location-based social networking system; Ayush Agarwal, Adam Herscher, Jeff Powers, and Dr. Elliot Soloway.
- EECS Navigation System; Jared Chenkin, Jason Kriesel, Michael Mroch, and Jeffrey Parker. Created an indoor navigational system using location information and map information to guide you from where you are to where you want to be, providing realtime feedback. EECS Navigation System Manual.
- EECS Tour Guide; Scott Caesar, Phil Nash, and Seneca Rapson. Created a virtual tour guide to tell you about interesting things near your current location, and help you find locations of interest to you. EECS Tour Presentation Slides, EECS Tour User Manual.
